Senior Collection

Just to give a quick blurb about this line and its creation:
This collection was inspired by space and ideas of the future combined with historical elements. I've also been largely influenced by musicians like David Bowie, St. Vincent, Kanye West, Grimes, and Janelle Monaé this past year. Many of the pieces featured were inspired by the fabric I bought. Sometimes I can just look at a fabric and know exactly what needs to be made from it, and sometimes I buy a fabric saying "I need that" and then sit on it for a while until I figure out the perfect piece to make out of it. I've also found during my design process that if I pack all of my fabric into a pile and just look at it for a while, I start to see which fabrics would work together in ways that I hadn't thought of before. Sometimes when I am sketching my ideas out, I sketch in black and white and then fill in the blanks after studying my fabric. All of these design methods happened in some way or another during the creation of this line. Most of the pieces in this collection are my favorite pieces I've ever made (so far).
This has been such a fun collection to design and these fabrics have been so interesting to work with. I plan on collecting more fabrics that catch my eye as well as using some fabrics I've had stored away and finally figuring out what to do with them, especially now that I have Pattern Magic 2 & 3 (by Tomoko Nakamichi) to play around with shapes in my designs this summer.
