Last month I had the pleasure of participating in the Boston Open Runway for the first time. I showcased two looks from my upcoming collection, which I will be debuting sometime in July. For these two pieces, I used a blue shantung fabric I had picked up from a fabric lottery at FSU a few years ago, some leftover tulle scraps from my last collection, and a white lace fabric I cut up into appliques.
I seem to have the worst luck with hair & make up, because a few days before the show my make-up artist got sick and couldn't make it. It was too close to the show for me to find another artist, so I decided to take a chance and do it myself. I rush ordered two jeweled bridal crowns from Amazon so I wouldn't have to worry too much about the hair, because honestly I'm just not good at doing hair so I figured I could get away with doing a simpler look if I had these elegant crowns. For make-up I did a simple natural look with a light contour and a heavy highlight and some light eyeshadow as well. I think the looks came out pretty well considering I have zero experience doing hair & make-up and I only had an hour to do it.
As I said before, these are the first two looks out of a collection I'll be showing in July. For this upcoming collection I'm going to be using a lot of white, which I hadn't really done until the Heavenly Creatures collection, and I'm going to be making a lot of my own appliques for this too. I have a lot of interesting ideas I'm excited to try out for this collection and I can't wait to showcase! Also for this collection, I'll be using a lot of the donated fabrics I've received over the past few months as part of my ongoing repurposing project.

Side note: I'll be making a post about my show at the Liberty Hotel last month soon! I meant to do so sooner but I've been so busy this past month and have been having some issues with my computer that I haven't really had the chance to sit down, get all of the pictures together, and write a post about it but it will be up soon!
